About
What Loftshape is
Loftshape is a web-based AI design workspace for homes: you describe a home in a sentence and get a furnished, to-scale floor plan that you can edit in 2D, see in 3D, render, and share — with AI tools for restyling and staging room photos in the same account.
What it does
Floor plans from a description
Describe the home — its rooms, its size, the plot it stands on — and Loftshape draws a furnished, to-scale floor plan from the description.
A 2D editor and a 3D view of the same plan
Walls, doors, windows and furniture are edited on a to-scale 2D plan, with snapping and typed lengths, over several floors joined by stairs. The same plan stands up in 3D beside it and can be walked through in first person.
Plans from a picture
A picture of an existing floor plan, or a hand sketch, is rebuilt as an editable plan. A plan made this way should be checked against real measurements.
An assistant that edits the plan
A chat assistant changes the plan on request — add a room, move a wall, furnish or rearrange a room — and says so when something asked for does not fit.
Renders, exports and sharing
Pictures are rendered from the 3D view. Plans export as PDF and DXF, and can be shared with a client through a view-only link.
Room photos restyled
A photo of a room is redesigned in a chosen style while its walls, windows and layout stay where they are. There are versions for kitchens, bathrooms, exteriors and gardens.
Virtual staging
A photo of an empty room is furnished for a property listing, with the walls and windows left untouched.
Sketches, spot edits and video
A line drawing becomes a rendered picture; one painted-over region of a picture is changed while the rest is kept; a set of photos becomes a short video.
Who it is for
- Interior designers, to get from a brief to a furnished plan and a set of pictures a client can react to.
- Real-estate agents and property marketers, to stage empty rooms and add a floor plan to a listing.
- Homeowners and renovators, to try a layout or a style before paying for one.
- Architects and builders at the early stage, to sketch options quickly, before drawing them properly in CAD.
What it costs
- Free$0
- The editor, the plan generator, the 3D view and Walkthrough, with no monthly AI credits. A new workspace is given 30 credits once to try the AI. No card is asked for.
- Starter$15 a month
- 200 AI credits a month, photoreal renders at HD, 2 floors a plan and PDF export.
- Homeowner$29 a month
- 500 AI credits a month, renders up to 4K, generated video, any number of floors, PDF and DXF export.
- Pro$99 a month
- 2,000 AI credits a month, 3 seats, templates and unlimited client share links.
- StudioCustom
- For larger teams: unlimited credits and seats, API access and single sign-on, priced on request.
The full list is on the pricing section of the home page.
What it is not
- Loftshape does not produce construction documents. Its plans are design drawings, not drawings to build or apply for a permit from.
- It does not check building codes, structure or engineering. A licensed architect or engineer is still needed to build.
- AI pictures are visualizations. They are not measured, and the furniture in them is not a list of products to buy.
- It runs in a web browser. There is no app to install and no offline use.
- The site and the product are in English.
Questions people ask
What is Loftshape?
Loftshape is a web-based AI design workspace for homes. You describe a home in a sentence and get a furnished, to-scale floor plan that you can edit in 2D and see in 3D, and the same account has AI tools that restyle and stage photos of rooms.
Is Loftshape free?
The studio is free: the editor, the plan generator, the 3D view and Walkthrough cost nothing, and no card is asked for. The AI runs on credits. A new workspace is given 30 once; after that Starter is $15 a month with 200 AI credits a month, Homeowner is $29 a month with 500 AI credits a month, and Pro is $99 a month with 2,000 AI credits a month and 3 seats. Studio, for larger teams, is priced on request.
Can Loftshape make a floor plan from a text description?
Yes. You describe the home — the rooms, the size, the plot — and it draws a furnished floor plan to scale. The plan is then yours to edit: every wall, door, window and piece of furniture can be moved or changed.
Can I start from a floor plan or a sketch I already have?
Yes. A picture of an existing plan, or a hand sketch, is rebuilt as an editable plan. Check the result against real measurements before relying on it: a picture does not always carry its scale.
Can I build from a Loftshape floor plan?
No. Loftshape plans are design drawings for exploring and presenting a layout. They are not construction documents, and Loftshape does not check building codes or structure, so a licensed architect or engineer is needed before anything is built.
What can I export from Loftshape?
On a paid plan, floor plans export as PDF for printing — and, from Homeowner up, as DXF for opening in CAD software. Rendered pictures download as images on every plan, and a plan can be shared with a client through a view-only link.
Who is Loftshape for?
Interior designers, real-estate agents and property marketers, homeowners planning a renovation, and architects or builders at the early, sketching stage of a project.
